Hi, I’m Kai (though you may have already figured that). I’m a college student majoring in Radio, Television, and Film (RTF) with a minor in both Communication and New Media.
I’ve always loved film and television ever since I was young and I especially loved writing. I enjoy writing in depth analyses of the media I watch and breaking down how it succeeds and what it could do better. Taking the RTF course has helped me better understand what goes into media creation, which helps keep my critiques fair.
It wasn’t until I started taking the Communication course that I realized I love rhetorical analysis (breaking down how a work uses ethos, pathos, and logos to communicate a point to the audience). Combining my love of movies, shows, and analysis, I decided to start critiquing and reviewing media.
And now my New Media course has brought me here by giving me the inspiration to create a website to display not just my writing, but my opinions on media old and new.
